Year 8 Take on International Street Food Challenge at Hatherop
Hatherop Castle School’s Year 8 pupils recently took part in a dynamic International Street Food Challenge, a highlight of their Leavers’ Programme. Working in teams, they created original street food dishes inspired by global cuisines. From budgeting and ingredient sourcing to cooking, presentation and marketing, pupils demonstrated creativity, teamwork and real-world enterprise skills. The judges were impressed by the variety, flavour and professionalism on display. It was a fantastic, hands-on day of learning, laughter and culinary adventure.

This year, Hatherop Castle pupils have earned an impressive total of seven scholarships to leading senior schools, including Roedean, Stowe, and Westonbirt. Awards were granted in academics, sport and music, highlighting the ambition, resilience and all-round excellence of our Year 8 cohort. Prep 8 Celebrate Exam Success with Epic Waterpark Adventure
To celebrate the end of their Common Entrance Exams, Prep 8 enjoyed a well-earned day out at the Cotswold Waterpark WIBIT. The inflatable obstacle course was the perfect reward after weeks of revision and exams. From climbing walls to slippery slides, pupils revelled in a high-energy afternoon of laughter, teamwork and tumbles, an unforgettable way to begin their final term at Hatherop Castle School.
A Morning with David Walliams – Simply Gangsta!
Prep 4 took part in a live online session with bestselling author David Walliams. He shared his writing inspirations, character ideas, and read aloud from favourites like Gangsta Granny, leaving the children laughing and engaged. The session sparked enthusiasm for reading and was a memorable highlight of their school week.

To round off the Lent Term, pupils from Prep 6–8 enjoyed a week in Normandy, immersing themselves in French language and culture. From historical visits to Mont St Michel and WW2 memorials, to markets, lessons and treasure hunts, the trip offered a memorable blend of fun, learning and reflection.
The Addams Family Musical – A Showstopping Success!
Despite illness setbacks, Hatherop’s Addams Family production wowed audiences with its talent, dedication, and eerie charm. The pupils’ perseverance and teamwork ensured a spectacular final performance, earning rapturous applause and admiration.
