A Harvest Full of Happiness at Hatherop Castle
There was plenty to be thankful for at Hatherop Castle School on Friday 9th October, as our Pre-Prep children gathered at St Nicholas Church for a wonderful Harvest Festival celebration.
With proud parents and families looking on, our youngest pupils filled the church with singing, smiles and enthusiasm as they celebrated the season of Harvest and reflected on the importance of kindness, gratitude and helping others.

Our Reception children were particularly enthusiastic, throwing themselves wholeheartedly into the celebrations. A rousing rendition of Big Red Combine Harvester was a real highlight, sung with such energy that it was impossible not to smile!
A special thank you must also go to Mariana, who kindly baked some delicious bread for the occasion. As a lovely continuation of our Harvest celebrations, the children will be enjoying the bread together as their afternoon snack, a simple but meaningful reminder of the importance of sharing.

This year, our Harvest celebrations also provided an opportunity to think about those less fortunate than ourselves. As part of our Green Day in support of South Cotswolds Foodbank, our school community raised a fantastic £502.60 to help the charity continue its invaluable work supporting local families in need. Rather than collecting traditional food donations, families were invited to make monetary contributions, and we are incredibly grateful for their generosity.
Beyond the songs and celebrations, the Harvest Festival was a wonderful example of what makes our Pre-Prep so special. From the confidence of our youngest performers to the joy of coming together as a school community, it was a lovely reminder that even the smallest children can make a big difference.
Thank you to all our Pre-Prep staff, families and children for making this year’s Harvest Festival such a happy and memorable occasion, and for helping us make a difference to our wider community.
