At Hatherop Castle School, we are proud to offer a wide range of boarding options designed to suit the needs of every family. Whether you are looking for a full-time experience, weekly boarding, or the flexibility of occasional nights, our boarding house, De Mauley House, provides a warm, family-centred environment where pupils feel at home.

A Range of Options

  • Full Boarding – Pupils live at school throughout the term, enjoying the full experience of boarding life, from weekend trips to Harry Potter Studios or Westonbirt Arboretum, to relaxed Sunday activities such as countryside walks and games on the lawn.
  • Weekly Boarding – A perfect balance for families who prefer children to be at home at weekends, while still giving pupils the independence and camaraderie of boarding life during the week.
  • Flexi Boarding – Ideal for busy family schedules, pupils can board for as little as one night, with voucher bundles available in sets of 1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 nights, offering excellent savings. Even one night of boarding gives children the chance to experience the independence, friendships and fun that are at the heart of life at De Mauley House.

The Boarding Experience

Boarders enjoy a structured, nurturing routine, with delicious suppers, a calm and caring bedtime, and hearty breakfasts to start the day. Activities in the evenings and weekends range from sports and games to movie nights and creative projects, ensuring there is always something fun to look forward to.

Our dedicated Houseparents, Mr and Mrs Usher, along with the wider boarding team, ensure that De Mauley House truly feels like a home away from home, a safe, supportive, and lively community where every child can thrive.
