Prep 1’s Wild Adventure: Never Giving Up!
This Wednesday, Prep 1 embarked on an exciting morning of survival challenges as part of their Wild topic. Inspired by Bear Grylls, the children faced thrilling tasks to earn their Never Give Up! Scout badge.
Starting the day with an imaginary scenario, waking up in a woodland with only their uniforms, coats, and a few everyday items in their pockets, they worked together to transport water secured from a nearby stream across an assault course and built a shelter large enough to house their team. Embracing lessons on animal camouflage, they even added mud to their faces for an authentic survival touch!

Later, they learned knot-tying skills from Bear Grylls himself and tackled the Red Hot Challenge. Using creativity and problem-solving, they imagined how they could transform the items found in their pockets, a plastic bag, paperclip, elastic band, pencil, and rope, into survival tools. Ideas included making a fishing line, a pulley system, a trap, a safety line, and a net.
The morning was a testament to the children’s courage, perseverance, and resilience, and every child received their award. An unforgettable adventure for Prep 1!
