Food Glorious Food! Hatherop welcomes a new Head Chef.
Research has shown that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. A balanced diet, rich in essential nutrients, when paired with regular exercise, will ensure that you maintain a healthy, happy sense of physical and mental wellbeing, even around stressful exam times like our current Prep 7 & 8 have been experiencing.
That is why all our children at Hatherop are treated to a nutritious, balanced lunch every day with a varied menu choice which rotates on a 3 weekly basis, courtesy of Holroyd Howe. All meals are cooked on site and for the whole school, lunch options range from from honey baked gammon or lamb hotpot to leek & potato gratin and of course, fish Friday is always a firm favourite. Our Nursery and Pre-prep children are provided with a home cooked hot meal every day but from prep 2 upwards, children are given the freedom to choose between either a hot meal or our salad bar, with a wide range of choice, tailored to suit a wide range of preferences, allergies and needs.
For our boarders we like to go above and beyond when it comes to feeding them, after all, they are away from their family for much of the week so a varied and interesting menu is essential for them. We have a range of themed night suppers for our boarders, with the ‘Hen Den’ evening or Mexican Nights always firm favourites amongst them all (especially the boarding staff on duty!)
