A Winning Day for Hatherop Castle at the Wiltshire Youth Fencing Championships!
The Wiltshire Youth Fencing Championships recently took place in Pewsey, bringing together over 60 young fencers from across the county for an exciting day of competition. Children duelled fiercely across five different age groups, all striving to be crowned the best blade in Wiltshire.
Hatherop Castle School’s talented fencers, who train diligently in Wiltshire, once again demonstrated their skills and determination. Despite being a smaller team, we proudly celebrated an impressive haul of medals:
- U10 Boys Foil Gold
- U10 Girls Foil Silver
- U10 Boys Foil Bronze
- U10 Girls Foil Bronze
This fantastic performance is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our young athletes, as well as the support from our committed coaching team. Our fencers showed true Hatherop spirit, competing with enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day.
Congratulations to all our competitors and a huge well done to our medal winners! We’re excited to see what the future holds for our budding fencers.
One of the most memorable moments of the service was the Reception Class’s enchanting performance of The Little Red Hen. The children brought this classic tale to life with their expressive gestures and cheerful singing, bringing smiles to the faces of everyone in attendance. Their efforts were met with resounding applause, making this a truly special highlight of the morning.
We are incredibly grateful for the generous donations made by all the children and their families in support of the Cirencester Food Bank. These contributions reflect the caring and compassionate spirit of our community, and they will make a meaningful difference to those in need.
A huge thank you to all the staff for their dedication and hard work in organising this wonderful event, as well as to the families for their unwavering support. Together, we created a Harvest Festival that will be fondly remembered by all.
