Academies and Activities
Hatherop Castle School’s unique location, fantastic facilities and specialist staff allow us to offer up to 8 hours of professional tuition in a choice of high-quality Academies
Students can choose one Academy each week and children not taking part in a specialist Academy take part in our popular Multi Activity programme, where they enjoy a range of different sports and activities. With up to 4 activities each afternoon, from a varied and changing programme, children are together with native English speaking children and enjoy the opportunity to practise their language skills and make new English friends.
Multi-Activity Programme
The Multi-Activity programme is a chance for children to try new sports and activities, and put their language skills to use in a fun and informal setting. Options may include Basketball, Football, Touch Rugby, Badminton, Dance, Arts and Crafts, and Forest School.
The Multi-Activity programme is included in the standard package.


Horse Riding Academy
The Cotswolds is famous horse-riding country and students will develop their riding skills a local Riding School before enjoying a hack in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside.
Session length: 4 x 45-minutes/week
Equipment: students must bring riding boots and trousers
Cost: £250 per week
Location: off-site
Performing Arts Academy
Hatherop Castle has a great reputation for the performing arts and a fantastic modern Performing Arts Centre. This Academy is a combination of music, drama and dance, with a short performance at the Hatherop Castle Summer School Talent Show.
Session length: 4 x 2-hours/week
Equipment: No equipment needed
Cost: £150 per week

Tennis Academy
With expert coaching from a professional LTA tennis coach, Tennis Academy is for players of all levels and students learn all aspects of the sport, from understanding grip, forward and backhand strokes, serving, volleying, and court positioning.
Session length: 4 x 2-hours/week
Equipment: Loan rackets are provided
Cost: £150 per week

Evenings and weekends
Evenings and weekends at Hatherop Castle Summer School are filled with fun and entertainment and opportunity to build friendships and put English to good use.

Every Wednesday and Sunday, students enjoy to locations that extend their learning. These include Slimbridge Wetland Centre and We The Curious, Bristol’s popular science museum.
Full day trips to Legoland, Windsor and Warwick Castle take place on Saturdays.
