Prep 8 Explore the World of Money Through Independent Humanities Projects

This half term, Prep 8 pupils undertook an ambitious Humanities Project centred around the theme of money, exploring a wide range of topics linked to finance, spending habits, businesses, wealth and the impact money has on society.

The project encouraged pupils to think independently and creatively whilst developing key research, presentation and communication skills. Each pupil selected an area of personal interest, allowing them to investigate topics in depth and gain a greater understanding of the role money plays in everyday life.

As part of their research, pupils used a variety of methods to gather information. Some conducted interviews and surveys to collect first-hand data, whilst others used secondary sources to investigate and analyse their chosen topics. Through this process, they developed valuable skills in researching, evaluating information and presenting evidence effectively.

The children were given the freedom to showcase their findings in a variety of creative ways. Eye-catching presentation boards, carefully constructed models, innovative product designs and engaging PowerPoint presentations all featured in the final showcase. The diversity of approaches highlighted the individuality, creativity and dedication that each pupil brought to their work.

The culmination of the project saw Prep 8 confidently presenting their findings not only to their classmates but also to the wider Upper School. Their presentations were informative, engaging and thought-provoking, demonstrating growing confidence in public speaking and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.

It was wonderful to see how much the pupils developed throughout the project, strengthening their research techniques, refining their presentation skills and taking genuine pride in their learning. The quality of work on display was a testament to their hard work, curiosity and enthusiasm, making this a highly successful and rewarding Humanities project.
