Prep 1’s Storytelling Adventure Delights Parents

Prep 1 children brought huge smiles to their parents’ faces with their wonderful storytelling. Using story maps, they performed their twisted tales based on “The Sweetest Song” from our class book, “The Story Tree.” The children showcased their creativity by changing characters, settings, problems, and solutions, adding expression, actions, and movement to bring their tales to life.

From mermaids to snow leopards, turtles to rabbits, the children impressed with their ambitious use of adjectives like “mischievous,” “sly,” and “courageous,” and adverbials such as “Suddenly,” “At that moment,” “Just then,” and “Eventually.” Despite snowflakes in the air, everyone stayed warm and snug with a fire, hot chocolate, and of course, warmed hearts!
