International Full Boarders

Hatherop Castle School is a welcoming, vibrant school made up of children from more than a dozen countries – from France to Thailand. We welcome international students from age 7 (Prep 3) and above. We are lucky to be located in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, and our schools offers a unique environment where children can experience the adventure of childhood, no matter where they call home.

A Home from Home

Our varied boarding programme offers pupils the chance to stay with us flexibly throughout the week, on a short-term basis or as a full-time boarder.

Weekends are always busy with a huge range of trips and activities, including visits to key cultural and historic British sights, such as medieval castles, museums and the Roman Baths, as well as trips to theme parks and out into the English countryside. There is also a wide variety of after-school clubs, where they can try their hands at such activities as Lego Robotics, cookery, Scottish country dancing and sports.

Leavers’ Destinations

By the time they leave us, our international boarders are familiar with and confident in life in the United Kingdom, and happy to move on to one of the many outstanding boarding senior schools Hatherop Castle pupils join.

International Admissions Process

Joining Hatherop Castle School Prep follows a clear and simple admissions process. We have an open door policy, inviting prospective parents to contact us at any time throughout the year to arrange a visit to the school to meet the Head, Nigel Reed.

We also hold a number of Open Days and events throughout the year providing further opportunities for prospective parents to see Hatherop Castle in action.

Admission to Hatherop Castle is open to all who meet our entry requirements, regardless of gender, race, religious, socio-economic or cultural background. Hatherop Castle is pleased to accept applications for children to join in various age groups and maintains a partially selective policy for admissions. The school is, therefore, mixed ability by nature and in keeping with its aims to provide a balanced, well-rounded education.

“Boarders enthusiastically described how fortunate they were to be educated in a school with such beautiful surroundings.”
