World Water Day at Hatherop Castle School

Pour yourself a glass of water and enjoy some work from Prep 4!

Friday 22nd March is World Water Day and we have been learning all about this vital resource! To tie in with our topic we learned about Asian desert environments and the importance of clean water to nomadic and developing communities. We headed outside to experience the exhausting work of carrying water, ironically in the pouring rain!

We were shocked to discover that the average person in the UK uses 150 litres per day and we struggled carrying just 50 litres between us! This inspired some Save Water posters.  In English we learned a new poetry technique, the Elfje poem and used this to write some lines inspired by our thoughts on water.  Next we’ll find out more about the water cycle and hope to explore terrariums over the Easter holidays!
