Welcome back from the Headmaster

Having spent the majority of the half term holiday in the New Forest, it was lovely to return to Hatherop Castle which was looking stunning in the summer sunshine. As we approach a busy half of term starting with CE and school exams I would like to wish our Prep 8 children all the best with their exams. I know they have been working hard in the run up to these exams and I am sure all the practice and revision will pay off.

It was a great shame that the weather prevented us from hosting our sports day just before half term but fingers crossed that is the only event we have to alter or postpone due to the weather. We are looking forward to welcoming prospective families to our Mary Poppins Open Morning on Saturday morning. We have lots of themed activities planned all related to the classic film.

The following weekend we welcome Prep 6 from all the Wishford schools for a weekend of camping, athletics, activities and friendship. Our PTA are also busily preparing for the summer fete on Saturday afternoon which I am sure will be a successful and enjoyable afternoon. Events like these illustrate how strong the community is at Hatherop – a unique feature of the school which I am incredibly proud of.
