Time to take Center Stage

“I couldn’t believe the confidence and talent of all the children on stage! Their happy and confident faces were a complete joy to see.” Hatherop Parent.

We have seen some fantastic teamwork from Pre Prep this week as they prepared and performed a version of The Just so Stories by Rhudyard Kipling.  This was followed by Prep 3 – Prep 8 attending the Lechlade Music Festival at the weekend. All the children were an inspiration to watch and it was so lovely to see them be given the opportunity to shine on centre stage.

From the children designing and making their own scenery, to a Prep 2 child writing the lyrics to their song, to parents supporting children with learning lines and staff providing lighting, music and direction. The finished result was a bright, colourful, enthusiastic showcase of talent from our youngest children.

We were lucky enough to host Jamie Dixon from Cirencester’s Barn Theatre at our dress rehearsal.  He was thrilled with our performance and the time that Hatherop Castle is able to devote to drama, an aspect of the curriculum that often gets squeezed.

Hatherop’s creative curriculum instils confidence, resilience and collaborative learning skills. All of which are invaluable and enhance everything else the children have access to.

We can’t wait to come and see you all perform again very soon!
