Technology in focus at Hatherop Castle

Technology continues to be a thriving subject across all of the age ranges with a wide variety of projects being explored. Prep 8 have helped to research and design some of the animal costumes for the pre-prep production. They have enjoyed problem solving and thinking of suitability for the end user.

This has also provided them with the opportunity to learn new skills with textiles and improve upon their current ones. Prep 2 have been busy learning about nature and the cycle of growth; as well as planting sunflowers and watching how they develop; they have used sunflower seeds in baking. Prep 1 are working on a textiles project linked to fair trade and developing their understanding of the rainforest. They have used their imagination and immersion in the rainforest topic to design and make rainforest bags in a variety of media.
