Sport kicks off in style at Hatherop Castle
Boys’ sport
U9A v Pinewood
Player of the match: Hugo Streeter. Result lost 7-0.
The As had a tough game, against a strong Pinewood side. Despite working hard and battling for the ball, the possession was squandered to easily. An area to work on is man-to-man marking and keeping possession of the ball. The energy levels were good; however, we need to find greater stamina to help defend our goal.
U9B v Pinewood
Player of the match: Freddie Marsh. Result won 3-1.
The Bs worked well, passing the ball accurately to each other. The dribbling skills were effective in and around the goal, which led to Freddie Marsh scoring 2 goals and Thomas Campbell scoring 1.
U10A v Pinewood
Player of the Match: Felix Williams. Result lost 6-3.
Hatherop were excellent going forward and scored 3 very good goals! 2 scored by Felix and the other by Piran. We matched our opponents both physically and skilfully, however, as soon as possession was lost, the team did not react quick enough to mark the runners coming through. For the first game of the season there were plenty of positives to take away and improve upon.
U10B v Pinewood
Player of the Match: Vivan Nembang. Result lost 4-1.
Hatherop showed good spirit on a cold and wet afternoon. Pinewood proved a little too much for us but lots was learnt and we are ready for our next challenge!
