Reception visit The Far East…
Reception have been learning about Chinese New Year this week. The children discovered they were either born in the year of the dragon (up to 9th February 2013) or the year of the snake (10th March 2013 onwards) and have thoroughly enjoyed finding out about the traditions associated with the New Year including cleaning and tidying their homes, money envelopes for children. The highlight was our Chinese banquet where the children had the opportunity to taste a range of Chinese foods such as noodles, rice cakes, beansprouts, lychees and prawn crackers.
