Cradled in a beautiful Cotswold valley rest the remains of one of the grandest Roman villas in Britain. After a tour of the estate the newly appointed Prep 4 servants were put to work making potions and herbal remedies using natural local ingredients to help cure the ails of the master of the villa. We also got to handle Roman artefacts that were nearly 2000 years old and discovered how the Romans lived in Britain all that time ago. Chedworth Roman Villa was rediscovered by the Victorians over 150 years ago. Leading the way in archaeology and conservation, Chedworth is coming towards the end of an exciting five-year summer excavations programme.
