Prep 1 visit to STEAM

img_0317 img_0335To begin the day the children had an interactive session about the early railway pioneers and the challenges they faced. We used our imaginary pencils to erase all of the machines from a busy street to imagine what life was like before steam engines were created, the street seemed so empty.

Everyone enjoyed dressing up with very dapper young gentlemen becoming George and Robert Stephenson and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Our engineering brains were then utilised to explore models of trains and other artefacts. Despite such a busy morning, everyone was keen to continue exploring the museum and lots of the exhibits were studied very carefully.

We were all tired on our return but everyone agreed they had learned lots about locomotives and steam engines
