Our Reception children are 100 Days Smarter!

Reception have had a super week, the highlight of which was definitely celebrating our 100 Days of School on Tuesday! We started the day by making our special 100 hats; we had to carefully stick 100 stickers onto our hat in sets of 10. We then had a visit from Mrs Donovan who helped us complete 100 exercises in the Stable Yard. We did star jumps, squats, firework jumps and lots of other aerobic moves!

We also enjoyed counting Cheerios in sets of 10 to make a 100 Cheerio necklace, making our own bags of trail mix containing 100 goodies and decorating a cake to celebrate this special day. In the afternoon, Mr Reed came to visit us to read a story. He brought Polly the Parrot with him, who we enjoyed meeting. We hope to see Polly again very soon!

Following on from our 100 Day, we have returned to looking at 9 and 10; recognising sets of numbers within 9 and 10, and practising to write these numerals. In PSHE, we have been learning more about the role of exercise in keeping us healthy and what happens to our bodies when we exercise. We have also been looking at ‘We’re Going on a Lion Hunt’ and have made safari hats in preparation to go on our very own lion hunt around school. The adventures never stop in Reception!
