Languages at Hatherop

Here at Hatherop Castle, we believe in the importance of language learning, especially in the ever-growing global world we live in.

That’s why we strive to make our pupils’ language lessons both engaging and enjoyable. Building up their confidence and giving them the necessary tools to make them independent learners.

This year, alongside their normal modern foreign language lessons, pupils at Hatherop Castle will be taking part in several ‘taster weeks’. This will give them a little insight into several world languages such as Italian, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. The aim is to expose them to the basics and potentially spark an interest and passion to continue.

Let’s put an end to the embarrassing rationale of, ‘Everyone speaks English’ and welcome in the new global citizenship age. This will truly help and support our future generations to become world players.
