ISA National Swimming Finals at the Olympic Aquatic Centre – Sunday 21st January 2018

On Sunday 21st January 2018, Erin Evans in Prep 4 and Ben Yardley in Prep 6 competed at the ISA National swimming finals at the Olympic Pool in London. Both swimmers swam admirably and were beautifully behaved as they waited to compete in each of their races. Neither Erin or Ben placed, however, their times were good. At one point Benjamin was coming 3rd in the Backstroke but got piped at the end finishing 5th. It was a close swim for the Butterfly where Ben came in 6th. He got PBs over his 25m times which were significant for a 50m pool with 40.78s for Back crawl and 39.48s for Butterfly. The South West team were coming first after 2 legs in the freestyle relay, but unfortunately the team could not maintain the lead. Erin swam well in the breast stroke and tried her best and came 6th in 59.43s, which is about 5 seconds off her PB. Both children handled the whole occasion really well and conducted themselves tremendously throughout the whole day. As a school we are extremely proud of their efforts.
