I.S.A Gymnastics

On Sunday 5th February the U9 girls team (A. Barrows, C. French, A. Morling and S. Bath) competed in
the I.S.A National Gymnastics finals in Shrewsbury. It was a 4 piece apparatus competition where they had to perform 2 floor routines and 2 different vaults. The U9 team performed well but their highest scores were on the set floor where they all scored over 8 out of a possible 10 marks. For this piece of apparatus they had to perform a sequence of skills in a straight line and the judge commented on their excellent consistency as a team and their overall performance. There were 50 children in the U9 category and the U9 team were all individually placed in the top half, which is brilliant. Sophie came 12th, Ava 19th, Coco 23rd and Amy 24th. The girl’s individual results were then added together to make the team result where they were placed 5th out of 9 teams.

This was a fantastic day and the girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
