Home from Home for Hatherop boarders

Sometimes the boarders enjoy having a quieter time during weekend doing what any normal family would do. So this is exactly what we did! We wrapped up warmly and with some supplies from the village shop, we headed for a lovely long walk. With “Eddie” in (and on!) the lead, we walked through some beautiful landscapes along the river Coln. Our overseas pupils really appreciated this as they all live in large cities and could not believe what beauty there is right on our doorstep.

We have recently welcomed Pietro to the boarding house. Pietro is an Italian student, who with us for just a short time, but has added much fun and happiness to the boarding team. Pietro very much enjoyed his walk with Eddie and it was a great weekend for all of the boarders to bond in a comfy and cosy environment.

On Sunday we decided to do a little bit of retail therapy, including buying Christmas jumpers in readiness for the end of term Christmas jumper party, followed by a trip to the cinema. The chosen film was Paddington 2, it was a perfect feel good film, and if you have not yet seen the film, the Boarders highly recommend it! All in all a super weekend was enjoyed by all. Perfect preparation for what is set to be a very busy few weeks at Hatherop Castle!
