Bonne apres middi, guten tag, buenos dias
Who knew English is the language with the most words? Well, we all do now! European day of Languages kicked off in this style this week at Hatherop Castle, with various language based activities going on throughout the school. It all began with a prep school assembly that some of our talented linguists put together. The children made a quiz about languages and gave some very good answers. At breaktime, Prep 7 set up a French Boulangerie so all the children could come and practise ‘buying’ a croissant or pain au Chocolat. There was also dancing and some French playground games. At lunchtime the catering team pulled out all the stops with a wonderful pan- European meal. Houmous, paella, antipasti and baklava to name but a few of the tempting dishes. It was an extremely fun day. I don’t think I am the only one wishing it was Languages Day every day! que día tan increíble.
