An exciting reflection science lesson for our lucky Prep 3

In this week’s Science lessons, Prep 3 children at Hatherop Castle School had an exciting opportunity to delve into the concept of reflection and reflective materials. Through engaging activities and experiments, they not only explored scientific principles but also honed their teamwork and critical thinking skills.

During the lessons, the children interacted with a variety of reflective materials, using their understanding to forecast and order these materials based on their reflectivity. This hands-on approach allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, fostering a deeper understanding of the topic.

Following this exploration, the children conducted an experiment on the materials using a torch and a reflectivity tester. This experiment provided them with the opportunity to test their hypotheses and evaluate whether their predictions matched the findings of the investigation. Through careful observation and data collection, they worked together to draw meaningful conclusions about the properties of different materials.

One of the highlights of the lessons was the emphasis on teamwork. The children cooperated effectively to ensure a fair investigation, taking turns and supporting each other throughout the process. This collaborative approach not only enhanced their learning experience but also taught them valuable skills in communication, cooperation, and problem-solving.
