A fantastic Wishford Athletics Day

Monday 20th May was a glorious sunny afternoon for the Wishford Schools Athletics Day. It was held at Palmer Park Stadium, Reading. Over 300 children from all the Wishford Schools were involved in the spectacular day.

We had a number of children qualify for the sprint finals throughout Prep 4, 5 and 6. Overall, we collected 35 certificates for either 2nd or 3rd place. A special mention for two Prep 6 children who won the girls 600m and the boys 75m sprint. Well done!

To see the delight on the faces of the children, not only those who won, but all the children who competed was great! The children’s delight in sharing in the experiences of their peers and those around them was just fantastic. Something that Hatherop does extremely well. They also managed to smile throughout! All our Hatherop athletes showed great determination and resilience throughout the day.

The older children in Prep 7 were great ambassadors and role models for the younger children, and they’re not bad athletes either!
