Dip into Roman Britain
Find your inner Roman in Cirencester Join the Corinium Museum for a morning of mosaic making. You will explore the museum looking for inspiration from the museum’s Roman mosaic collections. During this morning workshop you will create a mosaic tile to take home using colourful, safe glass tiles. All materials and instruction provided.

Chedworth Roman Villa, Cheltenham Take some time out from exploring Roman life at the Villa to head to the Learning Pavilion for some craft activities. Make a mosaic tile or a badge and do some colouring.

Essential Winter Fun
Puddle Jumping Championships, Slimbridge Grab your wellies and waterproofs for a wild time at Slimbridge wetlands. The Puddle Jumping Championships are the perfect rainy day activity. Come and make a splash and jump into nature! This is amazing outdoor fun for all the family, but who will make the biggest splash? Perfect your splash to be the Puddle Jumping Champion and win a prize. Competitions take place daily at 2pm in Welly Boot Land. Top tips include: Jumping high and splashing like a majestic swan, make some moves like a crazy crane dancing to impress or have fun like ducklings splashing around in water! As well as splashing about in puddles there’s lots of other fun activities to have a go at.

Getting out and about – a few local ideas
Cotswold Water Park The Cotswold Water Park is an area of over 40 square miles and 180 lakes, with many different leisure providers, and a variety of places to stay. This stunning wetlands landscape hosts tens of thousands of breeding and watering birds and is an ideal destination for watching wildlife all year round.

Roves Farm, Swindon Jump on a tractor around the farm, visit the hens and see if they have left you any eggs to collect, take the sheep and goats for a walk or enjoy feeding the animals. Fun for everyone on the farm this half term.

Sports fun
Gloucester Ski School, Gloucester Couldn’t get away skiing this winter, try Gloucester Ski School for some winter sport fun including skiing, snowboarding, laser tag and tubing. Holiday ski school is for children who have never skied before up to children who can parallel ski!

Slip sliding away – walks in the countryside
Pull on your wellies and go puddle jumping this half term. While you are getting muddy, look out for lots of February wildlife that is waking up. See if you can spot any of the following on your walk:

Arty, crafty fun
The Pottery Place, Witney Thu 24 Feb. Create a new addition for your bedroom. Using chalk paint and Decopatch paper, decorate a footstool that will make the perfect homemade accessory to your room.

Further afield – fun but a little bit further

Imagine Children Festival, South Bank London’s biggest children’s festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with a focus on being unique and wellbeing. More than 50 percent of the programme free so there’s plenty of things to get involved with. The festival features some of the biggest names in children’s literature and television including Peppa Pig, Michael Rosen, Jacqueline Wilson and YolandDa’s Band Jam. There’s also musical workshops, yoga classes and classic music of children, as well as performance, poetry readings and live music
