Day 3
Tapisserie de Bayeux and the D-day museum
A beautiful day for an outing so after breakfast we set off to Bayeux. The children were amazed by the level of detail and an expert commentary helped us interpret each of the 70 images.
Lunch followed in the local park where the children were able to practise their French negotiation skills with some French children. Then we were off to Arromanches. We briefly basked in the sun by the beach named gold beach by the allied troops. The museum really helped us to understand this crucial event in the Second World War.
We are looking forward to the ‘grand spectacle’ tonight. The children are busy practising their acts.
