Behaviour Standards

Welcome to Hatherop Castle Summer School.

We are excited to have you joining us for an unforgettable summer of fun and engaging learning experiences.

To ensure a positive and respectful environment for everyone, we ask for full commitment to the following behaviour standards:

1. Respect and Kindness

  1. Treat everyone with respect:

Be kind and considerate to our peers, staff and others.
Listen when others are speaking and respect their opinions.

  1. Use positive language:

Don’t use inappropriate or hurtful language.
Offer encouragement and constructive feedback.

  1. Handle conflicts peacefully:
If a disagreement arises, seek to resolve it calmly and respectfully.
If needed, ask a staff member for help with the situation.

2. Participation and Engagement

  1. Actively participate:
Engage in class and in activities.
    Always speak in English.

  1. Be on time:
Arrive to class and activities on time, ready to participate.
Remain in the class or the activity until the session is over, unless you have permission to leave early.

3. Safety and Well-being

  1. Follow safety rules:
Adhere to all safety guidelines provided by the school.
Report any unsafe conditions or behaviours to a staff member.
  1. Take care of school property:
Respect the school’s facilities and equipment.
Clean up after yourself and report any damage to property.

 4. Online and Digital

  1. Limit your mobile phone use:
Only use your mobile phone when allowed, and hand it over to staff when asked.
Focus on the people around you rather than on your phone even when you have it with you.

  1. Use technology responsibly:
Follow the school’s guidelines for using computers, tablets and other electronic devices.
Access only approved websites and apps.

  1. Maintain privacy and security:

Respect the privacy of others and don’t share their information without permission.
