Snow update – Monday 11th November

Dear Parents,

Having studied forecasts and assessed the local roads, school will be open as normal tomorrow. Although the temperature is expected to be well below freezing, it is expected the roads will be treated and so will be passable with care.

It is advisable to leave extra time for your journey into school and to help this, school will not start until 0930. You can drop your child off anytime between 0800 and 0930 to their form room. The children are expected to wear school uniform, but please provide hats and gloves for them to wear with their school coats and waterproof trousers.

Parking
The main issue we have to contend with is parking. The lower car park is currently covered in thick snow and although Dave has done a sterling job at trying to clear as much car parking space as possible. There are limited spaces. We hope that with the later start the cars in the morning will be staggered, but we do politely ask to drop off and leave as quickly as possible.

In the afternoon we will operate a staggered finished, starting with pre-prep at 3.40pm, Middle School at 4pm and Upper School at 4.15pm. Please collect your older children when you collect your youngest child. Pre-Prep children will be collected from the PAC and Prep School from the Dr Moorhead Room. When driving through school I request that you all take extra care; we will have a one way system in place, driving up the drive and then through the top car park to leave.
Activities & minibuses
We will not be running activities tomorrow afternoon after 4.15pm, however should you need your child supervised after 4.15pm then this will be possible. The minibus service will run as normal, although please be patient as the drivers may take a little longer to reach you. The buses will leave at 4.15pm as normal.

Pre Prep Nativity

Please note that we have had to re-schedule the Pre-Prep Nativity. The following arrangements have been made:

Tuesday at 10.30am – Dress rehearsal: Pre-Prep Nativity
Wednesday at 11am – Performance to Parents: Pre-Prep Nativity. (Coffee at 10.30am in the Dr Moorhead).

A gentle reminder to any Pre Prep parents who have not yet dropped in their child’s present for Father Christmas, please could you do so by wednesday morning.

The Prep School Carol Service for Grandparents and OAPs will happen as scheduled on Wednesday afternoon.

Finally, please do take care when out on the roads and we look forward to seeing you and the children tomorrow.

Best Wishes

Nigel
