Hatherop Castle School warmly welcomes visits from parents and children either by appointment or at one of our termly Open Mornings.
If you have already visited the school, we can arrange a taster day where your child will join a class and experience a Hatherop Castle day.
To apply for a place at the school, an registration form is completed and sent to the school along with a non-refundable registration fee of £75. We do not have any formal entrance exams, but we will assess the child on a taster day, and we do require reports from the child’s previous school. If a place is offered and accepted by parents, a refundable deposit of £300 is paid refunded on completion of their time at Hatherop Castle.
Once the deposit and acceptance form is received, parents will be sent joining information. The child will be invited to come to an Induction Day, when they will join the class they will enter the following September and meet their form teacher. A system of buddying is in place; new pupils are looked after by old hands and shown where everything is and how things are done. Children joining us at other times of the academic year are also offered the opportunity to spend a day with the class they will enter on arrival.
To arrange an appointment, or if you have any other admissions queries, please contact the Admissions Registrar, Ms Debbie Whitehouse at email@example.com or on 01285 750206.
Scholarship exams are held in Lent term. Academic, Music, Art and Sport scholarships are awarded following examinations and assessments in these areas. They are open to children who will be in Prep 3 or above when they enter the school. Means-tested bursaries may also be available.
