Curriculum

At Hatherop Castle School we take great pride in our curriculum. 

We aim to:

  • cater for every child, no matter what their talent might be;
  • inspire every child and instil a lifelong love of learning;
  • challenge every pupil and encourage them to achieve the very best that they can;
  • and, of course, to prepare every child for 11+ or 13+ Common Entrance.

We achieve this through our wide ranging, challenging and adaptable curriculum.  At Hatherop Castle School we have always believed ourselves to be innovative, embracing positive changes in education.  We have recently become one of the first group of Independent Schools to take on the Independent Curriculum.  The Independent Curriculum offers both academic rigour and creativity (the fact that these two things are not mutually exclusive is at the heart of it’s ethos) and prepares the children fully for Common Entrance, whilst also delivering incredibly important cross-curricular learning skills and qualities for life with a greater emphasis on applying and communicating knowledge once it has been learned.
